Patiently (Pazientemente) Wait 72 Hours Before Shampooing Freshly Coloured Hair
Many colour treatments work by opening the cuticle layers of your hair strands for deep penetration. After your treatment, the cuticles will close slowly to seal in the pigment. If you wash your hair too soon (when the cuticles are still vulnerable), then you risk washing the colour away and your new shade will fade much faster.
It can take up to 72 hours for the cuticle layers to fully close – so, the longer you wait to wash your hair after it has been coloured, the more time the pigment will have to seal itself into your locks, making it last longer as a result.
We do recommend using a sealing and protective product for the first few days after you have applied colour, which can of course be applied every day to help reduce colour fade.
